News Thanksgiving Schedule

In celebration of Thanksgiving our office will be closed at 12:30 pm (Eastern Standard Time) Wednesday, November 26th, through Friday, November 28th.  We are thankful for all of our customers, vendors, and colleagues and wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday.

Tech-Tip :Unit Conversion

Did you know that Mastercam can convert metric to inch (or inch to metric) on the fly?  You sure can!  In any numeric value box you can type in a metric value of lets say 14.5mm, when you hit enter it will calculate it to the inch equivalent of .57087.  You can also convert Degrees, Minutes and Seconds to a polar angle.  See the table below for more features.

Notes:

  • Always place the unit symbol after the numeral (for example, 45mm).

  • One or more spaces between the numeral and the unit symbol are optional. For example, both of these values are acceptable: 25in, 25 in.

  • If a value has no unit symbol, Mastercam uses the current default units (inches or millimeters, set on the Start / Exit page of the System Configuration dialog box).

  • Use parentheses or additional unit symbols to clarify ambiguous values. For example, suppose Mastercam is set to millimeters. If you want to divide 3mm by 4cm, the entry 3/4cm is incorrect. (It's evaluated as 3/4 of a cm.) Instead, write the expression as 3mm/4cm or 3/(4cm).

Mastercam Training

We provide state-of-the-art training on the Mastercam system and teach you how to quickly apply Mastercam skills on the job. It is particularly useful for programmers and machinists. For experienced Mastercam users, refresher classes can bring awareness to newly released Mastercam features, and provide greater utilization of your Mastercam system.

Hands on Mastercam training classes at CAD/CAM Solutions are offered on a monthly basis to a limited class size to maximize the amount of material covered and to individualize student’s needs.  We use a projection system so every one in the class can see and follow along with the instructor.

Registration: Please call 770-982-3400 for registration.

Agenda: Arrive at 8:00 am to meet the instructor over coffee and settle in. Class begins promptly at 8:30am . Each class consists of practical exercises and projects. Every 2-3 hours breaks are taken. Lunch is provided at a local restaurant.  Classes finish up around 5:00pm .  The Mastercam Solids class adjourns at Noon .

Location: Our offices are approximately 20 miles east of Atlanta off US Highway 78. Map and directions can be found here.

Cost: The cost is $250.00 per day, per student. Payment is due on or before the first day of training class. Purchase orders may be faxed to 770-982-3366.
